Fall 2021 National First Steps® Virtual ACP Conference
September 28 @ 1:00 pm - October 6 @ 4:30 pm CDT
Respecting Choices® (RC) First Steps® (FS) Advance Care Planning (ACP) is the foundation for weaving ACP discussions into person-centered care and preventive healthcare for all adults, such as part of wellness visits. When integrated in the outpatient or community setting, and early in the course of healthcare, FS ACP discussions help to normalize the concept of planning and orient individuals to the importance of regular review and update of written plans.
- Day 1 (9/28): First Steps® ACP Design and Implementation ($250)
- Day 2 (9/29 or 10/5): First Steps® ACP Facilitator Certification ($475, or audit $250)
- Day 3 (10/6): First Steps® ACP Instructor Certification ($495)
Because ACP is not a one-size-fits-all conversation, ACP Facilitators must be trained to have conversations with individuals at different stages of health and in different settings of care. ACP Facilitators add value to an organization and community and are central to any program’s success.
The RC Instructor becomes certified to teach the RC ACP Facilitator Certification course. Replicating the RC approach to ACP is an important Instructor role. It requires ongoing education, competency assessment, and fidelity monitoring of RC Facilitators.
Organizations interested in replicating the FS ACP model will find it valuable to send representatives to all 3 days of our advance care planning certification courses; however, participants are welcome to attend FS ACP Facilitator Certification or Design and Implementation independently, based on their objectives.Register Here
