AHA President & CEO Emeritus Rich Umbdenstock Joins the Governing Board for Respecting Choices
We are pleased to announce that Rich Umbdenstock, President and CEO Emeritus of the American Hospital Association, is joining the Board of Directors of C-TAC Innovations, which is the governing board for the internationally recognized Respecting Choices program.
During his tenure with AHA, Mr. Umbdenstock helped the association lead, represent, and serve more than 5,000 member hospitals, health systems and other health care organizations, as well as 43,000 individual members. As head of the AHA, Mr. Umbdenstock played a key role in the debate, passage and implementation of the Affordable Care Act, working with association members on critical issues such as coverage, quality improvement and insurance reform.
Mr. Umbdenstock’s extensive experience includes a background in hospital administration, health system governance, management, and integration. He received the AHA Distinguished Service Award, the Association’s highest honor, in 2017. A fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Umbdenstock has also served as vice chair of the National Quality Forum, co-chaired the Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare and served on the board of Enroll America.
