Respecting Choices® National Conferences
National First Steps® ACP Conference (September 11-13, 2018)
Respecting Choices® (RC) First Steps® (FS) Advance Care Planning (ACP) is the foundation for weaving ACP discussions into person-centered care and preventive healthcare for all adults, such as part of wellness visits. When integrated in the outpatient or community setting, and early in the course of healthcare, FS ACP discussions help to normalize the concept of planning and orient individuals to the importance of regular review and update of written plans.
Course Content:
Organizations interested in replicating the FS ACP model will find it valuable to send representatives to all 3 days; however, participants are welcome to attend FS ACP Facilitator Certification or Design and Implementation independently, based on their objectives.
Fall 2018 National First Steps® ACP Conference
National Share the Experience (NSTE) Conference (October 23-26, 2018)
The purpose of the Summit is to provide a national forum for RC stakeholders to share their RC ACP implementation experiences and to gain a deeper understanding of the critical need for healthcare transformation to ensure person-centered care—care that honors an individual’s goals and values for future healthcare.
The conference provides individuals who had found solutions to improving person-centered care, using the RC model, a venue to share their learning with others. Many great stories will be shared to provide opportunities to learn from a wide variety of groups and individuals who have implemented the RC model.
The Summit brings together ACP leaders and experts from state and community initiatives, ACP coalitions, and healthcare organizations to collaborate and exchange ideas and strategies focused on bridging the BIG gap between what people want based on their state of health versus what they receive in terms of advanced illness and end-of-life care.
More than 200 people from 30 states and 3 countries attended the Inaugural NSTE Summit.
